Preoperative instructions
Before undergoing the FUE hair transplant, it is strictly recommended to inform the doctor about the medical history and any medications or treatments you may be taking.
If you have any type of chronic disease (diabetes, hypertension, hepatitis…), please consult with your doctor about the idea of conducting hair transplantation.
Drugs
After obtaining your doctor’s approval for hair transplantation, please stop using aspirin or any other blood thinning medication (anti-coagulants) at least three days before surgery to avoid excessive bleeding during the procedure.
The Day Before the Operation
It is strictly forbidden to consume alcohol: Alcohol consumption reduce the effectiveness of local anesthetics that the doctor will do before the transplant. This can cause pain during the operation – which is supposed to be painless – and postoperative pain.
Smoking is strictly forbidden: smoking decreases blood flow to the scalp. This leads to a slowdown in the healing process and a weakening of the growth of freshly transplanted hair.
We advise you to follow these instructions carefully, at least the day before the operation and the following week.
What to wear on the day of the operation?
We recommend that our patients wear a button-down shirt and bring a very wide V-neck shirt with them, this in order to avoid any kind of contact with transplanted grafts after transplantation.
We advise our patients to wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty.
The duration of the operation varies from one patient to another. On average, it lasts about 6 to 8 hours, depending on the number of transplants you want to receive from the donor area.
How to prepare for the transplant operation?
Take a shower as usual. Take care of your personal hygiene. Do not come to the operation on an empty stomach. Patients need to eat enough a lot of sugar. It is necessary to have a good rest before coming to the hair transplant and especially not to smoke or consume alcohol the day before the procedure.
During FUE hair transplant operation
The patient will be accompanied only by the medical staff and a translator if necessary. No guests are allowed in the operating room.
The companions of the patients will be brought to sit in the waiting room of the clinic.
